The use of rivets mainly includes the following steps:
Use a round hole punch to make a hole from the front on the surface where the rivet is to be installed, making sure that the hole diameter matches the rivet.
Put the spike part of the rivet on the mounting base, and make sure that the position is accurate.
Set the object to be fixed on the spike of the rivet to ensure that the object fits closely with the base.
Install a short cap on the exposed part of the spike so that it tightly engages the spike.
Use the rivet mold to align the short cap, gently tap the mold with a hammer, and pay attention to the control force to ensure that the rivet is formed at one time.
In addition, different types of rivets have different usage methods and application scenarios. For example, the R-type plastic rivet does not need to use installation tools during installation. The installation base is placed in a smooth hole, and then the head is pressed down. The specially designed foot expands and expands after being stressed, and is firmly locked on the installed surface. Core rivets are single-sided rivets. During riveting, the head of the rivet is knocked with a hammer to expose the core, making it flush with the end face of the nail head, thus completing the riveting operation.
For the use of hollow rivets, it usually involves inserting the rivet into a pre-drilled hole, and then using a rivet gun or hand tool to expand the rivet to fix two or more parts.
When it is necessary to remove the rivet, you can use an electric drill with a suitable drill bit to drill off the aluminum core in the middle, or use a screw to penetrate the rivet from the middle hole, screw on the nut, pinch the tail of the rivet with pliers, and turn the nut with a wrench to make the nail cap expand and tighten as the screw is slowly tightened, so as to remove the rivet.
